After Enlightenment, The Laundry (Please read description!)
March 18 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
“After enlightenment, the laundry” is one of my favorite phrases. It’s a terrific reminder that mindfulness meditation is not about escaping life or transcending day-to-day reality, but about truly LIVING each moment as it unfolds.
*** This session will be a little different ***
Many of my most profound insights and shifts have happened OFF the cushion. Meeting via Zoom gives us the opportunity to engage in an off-the-cushion practice … together!
For this session, feel free to engage in a physical chore or other activity during the guided meditation; optimally, something simple that does not require much active thinking or that would make too much noise to hear the guidance. Many tasks that we normally do on auto-pilot will be perfect; you might fold laundry, wash dishes, or do some slow walking. (Or, if you prefer, kick it old-school and just sit.)
We’ll open with a brief talk as usual, followed by a 25-minute guided meditation and a Q+A/discussion period.
Please RSVP to see the Zoom link.
If you prefer, you may also follow Mindfulness in Blue Jeans and register for this event (freely or with a no-minimum donation) via Eventbrite here:
Feel free to share this event publicly, but please only share this event page and not the actual Zoom link. If you’d like to share it on social media, you can use this link: https://www.meetup.com/boston-mindfulness-and-insight-meditation/events/291614871/
I’m looking forward to sitting (or not sitting 😉) and sharing with you all once again!
