Living Without Suffering … Off the Cushion

February 18, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Are you finding difficulty — and discouragement — with establishing a regular meditation practice? Or perhaps you’ve discovered some success with meditation on the cushion, but somehow that progress seems to stay with the cushion after you resume interacting with the world … and other people! 😉

Sitting in meditation is a wonderful and integral part of our practice, but we don’t sit on a cushion to get good at sitting on a cushion; this is an active practice designed to develop skills and insight to improve how we ACTUALLY live. This is why the “L” in my MINDFUL Spiral of Growth stands for “living,” and this talk and sitting session will provide the foundation for developing the practice that the Buddha taught 2500 years ago: living without suffering.

This event will take place in the Skylight Studio at the Watertown Center for Healing Arts. Please use the 22 Mount Auburn St. entrance and come up the stairs, and we will be in the last door on the left just before the restrooms.

There’s plenty of parking in the lot on Spring St., as well as street parking on Mount Auburn St. and a small lot on a short side street on the first right after the WCHA entrance (when heading toward Watertown Square). Feel free to bring your own cushion, use one of the ones already provided, or use a chair.

I’m looking forward to sharing and sitting with you all once again!
